052 A Little Indulgence Please
ByIn lieu of our usual topic of “letting go” please forgive my indulgence in a bit of “Why yes, thank you! I accept.”
The Liebster Blog Award is bestowed upon “up and coming” bloggers who have connected with fewer than 200 followers. Thanks to fellow blogger, Allison DeFord (Trailblazer at Felt Design Group and kickass author of Confessions of a Professional Mom) CreatingSpace365 and yours truly have been nominated for our first online award. I am deeply honored.
Below are the five questions Allison has asked of me, five inspirational blogs I also nominate for this award and the five questions I ask of them. Spread the love friends!
Allison’s Questions / My Answers
1. Who are your favorite authors (one male and one female) and what’s one thing you’ve learned from them?
MALE: Seth Godin and his latest book “The Icarus Deception” are game changers and I’m so proud and honored to have participated in its development. Anyone purchasing the Kindle version of what has been called “a catalyst…to try the untested, to challenge accepted wisdom, to build something new, to travel without a roadmap, to make a difference” will also discover a short passage from yours truly.
FEMALE: J.K Rowling in my opinion is a literary hero. She is her own Cinderella story, who has created one of the greatest love stories of all time…in the guise of an unbeknownst 11 year old wizard.
2. What has been the (or one of the) most rewarding experience related to writing your blog?
The absolute most rewarding moments I’ve had creating this blog is discovering a comment below a recent post or a like on the Facebook page and realizing that my words have connected with another heart seeking the path of letting go. I’ve treasured connecting with readers across the globe on this common struggle we all have to courageously let go of what we once held in favor of the patience for what we deserve.
3. What is your favorite post in your own blog (or post that makes you proudest)?
Because it’s fresh in my mind and captures my present thoughts, my favorite post is usually my latest one, . I’m also very proud of the big lessons that show up through the occasional poem including The Lack of Want.
4. What are some things you do besides blogging?
• Adventure-seeking from skyscraper grids to themepark jungles.
• Awareness-gathering in educational seminars, writing circles and other sacred spaces.
• Indulging in the allure of ballroom dancing and the art of hand lettering.
• Articulating stories I’ve carried around with me through deep conversation and a soon-to-be-blockbuster romance novel.
5. If you had to give an acceptance speech for the Liebster award in front of a live audience, who would you thank and what would you wear?
I would thank my “authentic voice” for showing me vulnerability. I would thank my brilliant and beautiful superfriends for their unconditional love and support. I would thank every roadblock, brick wall and quicksand pit I circumvented around. My attire for the evening…wings that grew stunning!
In no particular order, I nominate the following blogs to receive the Liebster Award.

Inspirational bloggers…here are my questions for you:
1. If your blog was renamed with a song title, what would it be?
2. What has been the (or one of the) most rewarding experience related to writing your blog?
3. How much time do you spend weekly on your blog writing, researching, connecting etc?
4. If you, and your laptop were stranded on an island (conveniently with a wifi connection), what 5 items would you take with you?
5. If you had to give an acceptance speech for the Liebster award in front of a live audience, who would be sitting in the front row and what would they be wearing?
Thanks so much for choosing my humble little blog for the Liebster Award! I’m very honored.
Thank you!! That means so much to me! 🙂
